What is it like to work for Saggezza? Our senior staff reveal all…
Ever wondered what it’s like to work in a senior role here at Saggezza?
Maybe you’re thinking about taking the next step in your career, or perhaps you want to try your hand at consultancy work.
To give you a picture of what life is like for senior staff at Saggezza, we asked some of our top performers how life here measures up to other places they’ve worked.
Here’s what they told us….
There’s no glass ceiling
One thing our Saggezza stars all agreed on is that there’s no glass ceiling at the company – if you’re ambitious, there’s no limit to what you can achieve. You could join as a graduate and become a department head in a few short years, while you’ll be working directly with C-level executives at some of the world’s biggest brands from day one.
“I think the only thing that limits anyone at Saggezza is their own ability, application and ambition, which is how it should be”, said Graham Rochester, one of our Senior GMC Developers and the UK CCM Capability Lead. “We are all actively encouraged to develop our skills, and career progression is always encouraged and enabled where possible.”
You take the lead on how you do things
In previous jobs, our staff say they were expected to ask “How high?” whenever they were told to jump. At Saggezza, they relish the fact they’re in control of the technology they work with and the direction of the projects they’re working on.
Graham explains: “My role allows me to take the lead when it comes to the languages and processes we use on each project. I love the fact I’m trusted to make decisions and shape the relationship I have with our clients. It gives me a feeling of ownership and engagement that I haven’t experienced elsewhere.”
At Saggezza, you’re not just a cog in a machine ¬– staff at every level are in control of how they approach their projects and can see the value they are adding every day.
There’s global opportunity
With offices in the UK, India, and the USA and clients in every corner of the world, Saggezza offers a great opportunity for anyone who wants to see the world (and get paid for the pleasure!).
Kavya Rao joined Saggezza in India in 2013. In May 2018, she moved across to the UK with her husband to work for a CCM client in their Liverpool office as a QA Tester, and she’s loving the experience.
“It’s always great to explore a new country, a new culture and new opportunities”, she said. “Travelling and working overseas has given me the opportunity to learn so much – professionally and personally.”
This has all been helped by the warm welcome Kavya received from the UK team, who’ve “provided all the support I needed before I’ve even asked”.
Grow alongside an ambitious company
“For me the best thing about working at Saggezza is the opportunity to grow alongside the company,” says Tom Denton, a UK-based developer.
That’s a view that a lot of our senior staff share, who all appreciate being at a company that wants to grow and give them the opportunity to grow with it.
“Saggezza is actively growing, but it’s not so large that you’re forgotten among the crowd”, Tom concludes. “You’ve got a real opportunity to shape the company and your career”.
You join a tight-knit team
Everyone who joins Saggezza is coming into a tight-knit team of talented techies. One of our big values is knowledge sharing, so new team members are guaranteed to learn plenty, as well as get the chance to share their expertise as well.
“There’s a great team spirit throughout the business”, says Graham. “There’s a lot of collaboration, and you always have the feeling that people are supporting each other rather than looking after themselves. It’s great working for a company where no one has any agenda other than our mutual success and achievements”.
There’s no hierarchy
The last thing our Saggezza stars all agreed on was the lack of a hierarchy at the company. Working at Saggezza isn’t a case of coming in each day and being told what to do – you’re in charge of your own workload and how you deliver it.
Kavya says “I’ve never worked anywhere with a better open-door policy – leaders and managers are very easy to approach”.
“Saggezza has a very flat structure – everyone on the project has a voice and everyone is valued”, adds Tom. “In my time here I’ve felt like my opinion was listened to and the direction of projects wasn’t being pushed down from the top”.
So, there you have it – six reasons some of our top performers love working for Saggezza.
